One of the most universally acclaimed films in recent memory, Parasite earned near-total critical agreement on its brilliance — a genre-defying thriller that uses the Kim and Park families to dissect class inequality with both surgical precision and riotous entertainment. Critics marveled at how Bong Joon-ho keeps the film in a state of constant tonal reinvention, moving from dark comedy to thriller to something harder to name, without ever losing its grip.
