Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob, knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
Critics were sharply divided on Eclipse, with fans of the franchise finding it the strongest entry yet while skeptics saw the same fundamental problems — stilted performances, meandering dialogue, and a central love triangle that generates heat more in theory than on screen. Director David Slade earned scattered praise for injecting energy and wit into the material, but many felt the action sequences promised in marketing amounted to little more than extended brooding conversations.

Roger Moore·Orlando Sentinel
“Eclipse leaves the sputtering story arc in idle, with only an uneasy truce between the vampire and werewolf clans amounting to anything new”
Steve Persall·St. Petersburg Times

Geoff Berkshire·Metromix
“finally feels more like the blockbuster this top-earning franchise deserves”
