What critics thought
Critics were roughly split down the middle on this sequel, with the dominant view being that it loses the scrappy charm that made the original work — swapping it for generic superhero noise. A minority found enough of the original's goofy energy intact to make it a passable, if lesser, follow-up, but the harsher voices called it a narrative misfire that coasts on formula.
