Moonfall

A mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it.

Moonfall lands in a familiar Emmerich zone where spectacle and absurdity are inseparable, leaving critics divided mostly on whether that's a feature or a flaw. The film draws little praise for craft or plausibility — it attracted attention partly for reportedly violating more laws of physics per minute than any other science fiction film in recent memory — and audience reception was only modestly warmer than critical.
