One of the most critically reviled superhero films ever made, this Fantastic Four reboot was attacked for its joyless tone, inert pacing, and a third act that critics felt arrived from a completely different — and worse — film. A small minority of reviewers defended its grimmer, more grounded approach as a welcome deviation from the Marvel formula, but that distinction wasn't enough to save it from near-universal condemnation and landing on most worst-of-2015 lists.
