The Croods

The prehistoric Croods family live in a particularly dangerous moment in time. Patriarch Grug, his mate Ugga, teenage daughter Eep, son Thunk, and feisty Gran gather food by day and huddle together in a cave at night. When a more evolved caveman named Guy arrives on the scene, Grug is distrustful, but it soon becomes apparent that Guy is correct about the impending destruction of their world.
What critics thought
The Croods lands somewhere in the middle of DreamWorks Animation's output — visually inventive and warmly charming for young audiences, but critics were divided over whether the script could match its spectacle. The film's family-friendly heart and fast pacing won over some reviewers, while others found the humor thin and the story too scattered to amount to much.
