G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Framed for crimes against the country, the G.I. Joe team is terminated by Presidential order. This forces the G.I. Joes into not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

Critics largely dismissed the sequel as loud, hollow, and narratively incoherent, though a handful found its self-aware stupidity almost charming. Where reviewers diverged was on whether the film's slick action craft earns it any goodwill at all — a few saw polished, guiltily enjoyable blockbuster mechanics at work, while many found the whole enterprise a cynical exercise in brand recycling with nothing underneath.
