Critics landed all over the map on Epic: most agreed the animation is genuinely lovely, but a majority felt the story recycled too many familiar eco-fantasy beats — FernGully, Avatar, take your pick — to stand apart. Where reviewers really split was on whether the visuals alone are enough to carry it; families and younger audiences seemed far more forgiving than the critical consensus suggests.
