Horrible Bosses

For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers... permanently.

The cast — especially Charlie Day and the three villainous bosses — earns most of the goodwill here, with critics largely agreeing that the ensemble's chemistry carries a script that doesn't always deserve it. The deeper fault line runs between those who found the raunchiness energetic and those who felt the film chickens out on its own dark premise, pulling punches on race, gender, and genuine menace.
