A steep drop from its predecessors, Blade: Trinity was broadly panned for trading coherent action and narrative drive for noise and recycled ideas. Even critics who had admired the first two films found this one shapeless and enervating — and notably, the film's own writer publicly declared that nobody involved was happy with the results.
