Phone Booth lands somewhere between tense thriller and thin gimmick, depending on who you ask. Critics generally credit Colin Farrell with keeping the film watchable and acknowledge the relentless pacing, but a significant bloc felt the single-location premise — clever as it sounds — simply doesn't generate enough substance to fill even its brief running time. The Kiefer Sutherland voiceover was a particular point of debate: for some it made the whole contraption work, for others it exposed how little was underneath.
