Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.

Shang-Chi earned strong notices for its cultural specificity, Tony Leung's commanding performance, and some of the MCU's most inventively choreographed action — particularly the wuxia-inflected early sequences. The main fault line in reviews runs through the third act: most critics were willing to forgive the effects-heavy finale as part of the genre's territory, but detractors found it a chaotic step down from everything that preceded it. Simu Liu's lead performance was also contested, drawing comparisons to franchise-defining castings from some and charges of affectlessness from others.
