Critics largely dismissed Predator 2 as a violent, mean-spirited retread that loses whatever tension made the original work. The one consistent thread across positive and negative reviews alike was Danny Glover: even detractors who thought he was wasted or slumming acknowledged he brought something to a film that didn't deserve it.
